See this is what happens to me when I don't keep up to date with my Blog. I have to do a massive amount of photo loading. Sometimes I wonder if I will be stopped putting so many piks on in one go. Not happened yet so I will keep on doing it. hee hee. I will put descriptions where needed next to pictures, if I can remember.....
First off is a Quilt I have just quilted for an on line buddy on the Popular Patchwork Forum, Tessa, she entrusted me with her beautiful quilt and I took great pleasure in doing it for her, this is the front...
close up of one block...
the back...
close up of back of one of the blocks...
Tessa's 'rogue' block - all the others had a cream centre....
close up of the star sashing Tessa did...
as it was Hexagons, I thought I would have a little fun and slap some tiny hexagons in amongst the quilting, can you see it?
Thank you Tessa for letting me do your Quilt.

SNOW - yuk!
but as you can see Rebecca enjoyed making some snowmen in the garden,
even though it was apparently wet snow!!!!
I stayed indoors, I'm not daft!!!
The next day look what happened, they started to lean on each other. hahahaha
Since these piks, we have had yet more snow, grrrrr

OK this is a bit of an oddity, my neighbour at top of street asked if I would do 'something'with a quilt!!!! which had been made for her grand daughters baby by a friend. Well it was basically a duvet cover, Iam not going into how it was made, cos, if this is the way they are teaching people to make quilts these days, they should be shot!!! It appeared to be made from Bridesmaid fabrics or something very similar, I could not get any of the creases out, so I did my best....that is my shadow behind the quilt, sorry folks...
I just did a continual loopy line of quilting across and down the whole thing just basically to make sure it held together!!!!
see what I mean about the fabrics...
the back was a weird fabric, never seen anything like it and I don;t wish to ever again quite honestly, but hey I got it done and she was pleased.
Just as well really, hahahaha

I entered a competition on PP Forum you had to use ZEELON,
not my sort of thing but I gave it my best shot...
aha, that's better you can see it now, the whole background is Zeelon as are the holly leaves which I made separately then stitched on, the whole thing is thread painted straight onto the Zeelon. Quite good stuff to work with...
Not heard yet who has won but I know it wont be me,
I have seen some of the other entries and WOW....

I set up this on the PP Forum, on the 6th of each month this year, wat ever you are doing you have to make a journal page of it, some of the journals going on for January are pretty amazing, I had made a note of what I did on that day, apart from it being my Suzanne's 40th birthday that is, but hey wouldn;t you know, I lost the piece of paper, so this is what I came up with for my January Journal, I have called it Memory Malfunction!!!
I have put the February notes in a safe place!!!

If you look on the side bar you will see I have joined the -
You are never too old to learn new things in my opinion, it took me a while to get the January sample done, but when I did it I loved it so much I made two. This first one is the bits of voile's left over from cutting out leaves I piled them on the blue background then quilted the chosen design over the top of them, it was leaves of course, right up my street as I said before I love doing trees and leaves, the trunk is done using two threads in the machine at the same time, yes it can be done, then thread painting it with a zigzag..I then quilted the background because it had distorted quite badly for some reason, hmm
close up...
the back...
This is the second version, I cut leaves from voile's, and as the one above quilted the chosen design all over them, trunk done the same as before, but no background quilting on this one....yet!!
close up...
the back,
made a boo boo,
trapped another piece of wadding behind it, ho hum!!!
I shall survive
I put these on the Face book page for the FMQ Challenge and got some really lovely remarks about them, so thank you to all the ladies for them

WOW..it is always fun to read your blog posts when it is still one day here and the NEXT day by you (which is what happened tonight) but.....even more fun when they are so chock-full of fun photos of terrific projects. You are just TOO talented, my friend!!! Oh...and I'm sorry you are having a rough winter with that snow (but not sorry enough to take it off your hands)!!!

Jan,
Love all your trees, really nice ideas, the voile leafs, the quilted hearty leafs, the winter spindly ones too, all wonderful!
With all those tree postcards you have already made, wonder does that mean we are going to have to do a 'tree' sometime??? It is all lovely work as always Jan. You do get alot of feedback too! Don't get many on mine but then i guess i dont do alot anyway and nothing as good as yours, perhaps people look but can't be bothered to comment. Love Tessa's quilt and everything you have done Jan, no wonder you can't get on line until midnight!! hehe!!! Oh my ice by the way was taken out of the water butt! BUT unfortunately because there is nothing else in the picture you can't get the idea of size! oh well learnt something for next time! Love Lizx
I think I'll just sit here, go Oooh and drool. Great job on Tessa's quilt and an amazing job on the one with the assorted fabrics. Love your Zeelon piece and also the FMQ ones.
