"Nana, can I have my sewing box down please?"
"Yes of course, what are you going to do then?"
"I don't know yet"
So down came the box and she rummaged through and found a load of those little 1 1/2" samples you get from quilt shops. She laid them all along the floor and said she was designing something......a dress for her Rabbit! OK!
So after the designing and drawing of said dress, she got the tray from the kitchen and placed the squares - how I told her to - on the tray, then off we trooped to the sewing room.
Here is what happened next....
You can see Rabbit in the background -
Rebecca is snipping the thread from the thread saver how I told her to,
good girl...
This is called chain piecing Rebecca,
Ok Nana....
You are doing it very well too...
See how quickly it grows without seperating all those little squares...
That's right, get the thread saver ready for the bottom of the row...
I really do not need to be here do I?
Just a few more to go from the tray,
well done,
you understand now why I told you to lay them out as I did, don't you...
Yes Nana...
the four pink squares in the corner are for the straps of the dress...
Is it nearly done yet?
Very nearly Rabbit...
We had to add a few more rows,
the Rabbit was bigger than we thought!!!!
WOW, look at that,
she then proceeded to join the long rows together,
joined the four squares - extended to eight - for the straps
and...
Voila, one dress for Rabbit
Well done Rebecca,
Nana is very proud of you.

Thats so sweet. My nanna taught me tapestry and cross stitch and attempted to teach me to knit. These things, we carry with us. A wonderful gift.

She's good....she listens to Nana's instructions and she the end result is great...I'm sure rabbit loves the new dress!
