Here we go again, only one more year after this folks then I am done.
'HAS ANYONE SEEN THE BOWS?'
This was made in Christmas fabric and I thought of the Presents bows, hence the name...
'CABBAGES and KINGS'
If you bring this picture up large you will see all the fabric is of market garden produce,
I used the cabbages as a main part of the Quilt and the block is called King's something or other...
'KEEP VERY STILL'
The title refers to the Fox's who were being hunted at the time I made this Quilt,
it is the Mother telling her cubs to be still...
OK I know I have strange ideas for the titles but then that's me!!
close up of the quilting and foxes...
'POSITIVELY NEGATIVE'
Black and white range of fabrics and they each had the same design -
hence the simple I thought !! title...
I kept this quilt when it was sent back to me as hubby really liked it, sent donation to H4H
close up of fabrics, not a lot of quilting on it...
'ROUND AND ROUND'
Spirals freely cut out and appliqued freely to the basic quilt, great fun to make,
I loved making the spirals...
close up for you...
I found I had quite a chunk of fabric left over when the quilt was finished so I made a bag with it,
I can't remember where it went though...
inside of the bag...
'SPICY FLOWERS IN THE WINDOW'
I loved this fabric range, I didn't want to cut it up too small, hence the very simple design...
mind you, these flowers were a bugger to cut out...
this is a full shot of the gorgeous fabric on the back of spicy flowers...
'I LOVE QUILTING'
This fabric was actually a Christmas range, but I wanted people to see
you don't HAVE to always make Christmas stuff with Christmas fabrics,
the title is machine sewn on the bit in the middle, but when I look at it now,
there isn't a lot of quilting on this, for me.....hahahaha
'PAPILLION'
Oh-la-la, this is the full back for you to see the super fabrics...
I did a pretty basic quilt then cut out some of the butterflies [Papillion]
made them 3d by doing three layers, then attached them to the quilt willy-nilly,
bit of a dust trap cos of those free flying butterflies...
close up for you...
'WISH YOU WERE HERE'
Terrific range of fabrics these were, I loved them then and I still do,
as you can see it is yet again a very basic quilt, but that darn deck chair drove me nuts,
I think this one made it to a magazine, it certainly was featured on the Makower site for a while
as a free pattern, if you made it do let me know, I would love to see your version...
that blooming deck chair and quilted footprints...
quilted clouds and quilted sea close up...
lots of fabric left over so once again I made a bag,
I still have it here...
this is the inside of the bag...
******************************************************
I was asked by Makower, if I would make them a copy of a Quilt, it had been featured in magazines and several shops wanted it to hang for display, so would I make it for them, the designer of it didn't wish to make it again!!!!
Yes said I. Then I got all the fabrics and pattern sent to me and this is the one I had to copy -
'A walk on the wildside'
I had to make it as near as possible to the original, so cutting all those HST's was great [not] fun,
it turned out alright though - I think...
the back, which I actually had to 'cobble' as they hadn't sent enough of the backing fabric to me,
that is MY black fabric on there, not that I mind....
*********************************************************
So there we are yet another year went by,
don't worry only one more year to go and that is slightly different.
