MAKOWER QUILTS YEAR 2005

Yet more of the Quilts I designed and made for Makower. Looking at these now, I have to be honest and say I don't like some of them at all, oh well!
CAPTURED CRYSTAL
Unsure whether I like this one now or not!!
Love the fabrics though - DIMPLES...
 Centre of Quilt...
Back of Quilting showing the quilting I did on it...
 GREEN FINGERS...
So called because the fabrics are all small flowers,
I drew round my own hand for the 'handy circle'
and reversed some of them...
 CAIDOZ GALAXY -
that is Zodiac backwards - me trying to be clever!!!!
Secondary pattern appeared when blocks were joined together...
 CAT-a-LOG
Named for the Log Cabin pattern...
 A QUILTER's WINDOW
These fabrics were just gorgeous, I loved every single one of them and there were a lot
to choose from, I think I had a quarter of each, I indulged myself...
 close up of design...
 DON'T DROP THE EGGS
I really do not like this one at all, it did not work out as I imagined it should,
I will not be doing this one again and I believe I even gave the fabrics away anyway,
it looked good on the screen as I designed it, but then.......
 CHINTZ-FAN-O
Well I liked the name I thought up, the fabric collection was called Chintz and I made Fans,
so the name was born. The Fan blades were all individually cut as I wanted to showcase
the flowers in the blades, blooming nightmare, literally...
 WHO ROCKED THE BOAT
The boats are being tossed about you see. Oh well.
I shan't be making this one again either...
 WISHING
Pretty Fairyland range of fabrics, I loved them,
I immediately saw Sunbonnet Sue dancing in Fairyland...
Around the circle I machine stitched in gold thread [nutter]
Here we are
In a ring we stand
WISHING
To go to Fairyland...

So there we are another year done, I hope you are enjoying them.

Isn't it amazing how fashions and our tastes change! I much prefer the pretty chintz-y patterns to the bold, in-your-face designs which are popular now. They are all lovely quilts - I'm enjoying your quilting story! Ros x

And I am enjoying the imaginative names that you have come up with as well as the quilt show.
