ROSEMARY's QUILT JOB DONE

I am pleased to say I finished her quilt for her and posted it off, well hubby did as it was way too hot for me out there. I then had to wait to hear if she had received it safely, Di let me know she had as she goes on the forum earlier than me and knew I would be worried about it. Good thing is Rosemary liked what I did to it. She wanted it to keep that 'swirling' look so the blocks have a curve to each blade, the small triangles are done with circles, round and round and round I went.....got very dizzy at one point....only kidding....then the border,  I decided to do two rows of straight lines then the curlicues in between, and basically that was it, job done. Rosemary wanted to do the binding herself so I didn't have to do that part.
Thank you Rosemary for trusting me with your beautiful quilt it was a joy to do, thank you also for allowing me to post pictures on here of it....and of course I now have to make one for myself.

Hubby took photo standing outside with camera through the window...
wonder what the neighbours thought of that!!!!!
close up of blades and borders...
just blades and all those circles...
 close up of corner...
the back, I just love the back of this...
Points of interest, the quilt measures 48 1/2" x 67 1/2" without it's binding on -
The blades are quilted with a random thread which perfectly matched the colours of the blades...
the cream background and borders were quilted with plain cream thread -
over 1000 metres of it...

ROSEMARY R's QUILT

This quilt belongs to Rosemary from the Popular Patchwork Forum I am on. She has asked would I quilt it for her...well of course I will, I loved the look of this pattern and feel sure I will be making one of these for myself or for hubby very soon as he also likes the pattern.
I had discussed with Rosemary how she would like it to be quilted and am happy to report it is actually done. I finished it today. Pictures will follow of the finished item when she has seen them herself first. It was fun to do Rosemary many thanks for trusting me with it and I hope you will like what I did.

NORTHAMPTON SAFARI

A few years back we had the Lions in Northampton, this year we have all sorts of animals. I took pictures of the ones I liked and the ones that are just gob stopping amazing, you will understand when you see them....

There are lots of Rhino's around but I really like this one of all of them...
t'other side...
This makes me laugh each time I see it,
the statue in the background is of a shoe last
with a boy and girl on top of it -
Northampton used to be famous for shoe making....
I know someone just like this that is why I laugh...
 Great cause...
 L'il Yo'man.....

I couldn't find his big brother at all...
 Just what is it?????
Saw this on the Market Square and thought - what the heck is that?
 Now you know....
 paws...
 sorry about the reflections...
these two old dears really made me laugh -
cos the one in the black jacket said to her pal -
"What a waste of wool!"
hubby said they should have used non reflective glass...
 Brilliant aren't they...
You can almost hear that ROAR...
 just amazing...

PRETTY STUFF and more

I have called this post Pretty stuff, which relates to the first picture and a possible few later on, although there is an ugly there too, you will spot it when you come to it....
The pretty is for this picture of Rebecca, she looks so grown up in that hat, her mum had the day off the other Saturday and they had fun trying some hats on in the shops before going to the cinema. I think the hat really suits her, but why do I keep wanting to say.... 'The rain in Spain' and stuff like that????

My beautiful 13 year old GD.....
Bookmark and ATC from Fay in Israel,
the painted card was done by disabled children, many thanks Fay they are great...
Cathy in New Zealand sent me this postcard of a sewing machine,
plus the cheeky chicken card which makes me laugh, thanks Cathy...
the little piece of white is peltex, she uses for making the postcards...
 'AUSTRALIA' Postcard from Tessa,
a Canadian living here in Penrith - confused??
hahaha, thanks Tessa it is fabulous of course...
Bookmark and ATC sent to Sandy in Australia, from me,
it was Free choice theme...
I did Pictionary type for the Bookmark, can you work it out???
I have entered yet another 'Strip swap' on the PP Forum,
we had to send Katy 14 strips of red fabric, she mixed them all up
and here are mine, I received them Saturday, thanks Katy...
WOO HOO I have done my Hexagons for the Quilt Set swap Pat -
my hand is now swollen like a balloon but I got them done...
Just thought this was pretty, in the garden above the water butt -
which is constantly overflowing due to the weather...
The President clematis has done really well this year
masses of flowers on it, but I only wanted one...
We planted, well hubby planted loads of Lilys this year for a change,
I love Lilys but....
so does this horrible bug - it is eating them, we go out at regular intervals
and find these little monsters and kill them DEAD, apparently this year
they are rife throughout the country, maybe cos of the rain????
FMQ CHALLENGE with SEWCALGAL -
The tutor for July is

you may remember I had done this as the challenge, then I was reminded by one
of the ladies on the Facebook page for this  - Cathy - that I was going to do my samples for this challenge each month of trees....
...so here is my tree for the July Challenge
I have actually cheated cos the tree is not 'tiled' the background is...
I chose NOT to quilt this one for some reason -
this is the back..
Following is a review of the trees done so far...
