QUILT SET NOVEMBER MEETING 2010

Better late than never, I am a little behind once again with loading stuff on my blog, but hey, I am sure you will find it worth the wait!!!!

General sewing through the day. What is that look for then Jean?
Different way folk hold their work...
The Quilt Top stall - Our Raffle table - Michelle's fabulous cushion...
They were all busy little bees today...
I think you can see what we were aiming to make here...
The lovely Sue. She has had so many operations I cannot begin to list them all,
now her hands are giving her cause for concern and has had ops on them which, sadly,
have gone a bit wrong, but she refuses to give up sewing...
GO SUE...
So here you see what we were making today, an advent calender for the adults,
although there are two children's ones in there...
Mince Pies courtesy of Annette of course,
thank you Annette...
Other pictures are of the two girls work, Rebecca and her friend Lois,
she came for the day and loved it...
Showing the pockets, various interpretations of the layout...
Lois and Rebecca asking Suzanne a question, more of the ladies pockets...
A proud Lois showing what she has achieved today, she has not done this before and
I thought she did very well, considering she was new to the group and really
struggled with this fabric, there was a lot of gold in it and the needle kept hitting it and you know
as well as I that the gold bits can give you grief, but she stuck at it, as did Rebecca.
Rebecca and Lois decorated the tree...

BLOCK LOTTO
A block had to be made using Christmas as the theme,
well done to Suzanne who finished Bridget's block for her as she has had an accident,
get well soon Bridget,
Can you spot the winner?
top one is Bridget's and lower is Suzanne's first attempt at paper foundation piecing,
she said never again!!!!!!!
was one of these the winner???????
No, I am afraid not, the winner was - second row the block next to Santa,
made by Polly, well done Polly.

SHOWTIME
Now you can see all the wonderful things the ladies brought along to share with us,
some are projects we have done here at the Quilt Set, others are items they have made
either on their own or at other groups or classes.
Enjoy...

A very sweet Angel, finally with her face, hahaha well done Polly...
 from last month's project...
three advent calenders ready to be filled...
Bag made using some of Cath Kidston fabrics,
nice one Michelle...
 another last month project...
Made by Irene for her Nephew who is very musical...
Two super place mats for Christmas by Suzanne,
good idea...
 Cocktail Quilt by Annette,
Cheers...
 Annette's Waterfall Quilt -
I love this Quilt...
Annette won on the Block Lotto a while back, she made more blocks,
added them to her winnings and this is the result - fabulous or what!
Our Joyce, ever the joker, bless her.
Well done Joyce for bringing a smile to everyone...
I had a lovely day, I hope the ladies did too. We wont be meeting now until February next year, if you would like to come along, do get in touch with me, you can do that via this Blog if you wish. I would love to have more people come, fresh faces bring fresh ideas.
Talking of fresh faces, it was wonderful having Lois at the meeting, the majority of the ladies passed very kind remarks to me about the two girls, [Rebecca and Lois], sitting sewing together. I would welcome more girls as long as they wish to sew,  I am more than happy for them to come, if they just want to mess around, uh uh, not at my group.
Lois was sad to hear it was the final meeting of the year bless her. I wish it was next year now she said. Do you think I have a future Quilter in her, I believe I do.
A final picture for you, Rebecca finished her small advent hanging on the Sunday when she came to me, I did the binding for her and just look at this smile...
Well done Rebecca.

I will be putting more  posts up later folks, trying to catch up.
