This was made for the Summertime Mini Quilt Swap I joined,
I managed to get it in the post by the skin of my teeth...
I used my sari silks for this...
close up for you...
this is the back...
close up of back...
Next is a block made for Angela from Popular Patchwork Forum - she chose to have Butterflies as her blocks, this is what I made for her - it is a Cabbage Butterfly, my way!!! This is just one of the little butterflies I stitched in the spaces...
and another, this is the one I signed with my name and year on it...
one of the 'Cabbage' butterflies...
and the other one, hot fix crystals on them to make them sparkle...
the complete block...
hope you like it Angela, sorry it took so long.
Now we have a mini bag for yet another swap I was in...
this is the inside of the bag - it is totally reversible in case the receiver doesn't like the outside!!
picture of the back and the front, she elephant and the giraffe pictures, are little panels I have attached as mini pockets...
I really hope everyone likes their swaps when they receive them, I do hope they all arrive safely at their destinations.
They were all done on the new machine by the way
I have had terrible problems getting these pictures up here, I do hope that isn't going to be the norm, I don't think I can cope with many more things playing me up just now.
Take pity on my Blogger and do it right.....please

Jan,
They are all so lovely. I especially like the Summertime Mini Quilt. The pink flowers are so pretty. We have Sari Silk in common. I use it in my spinning.
Good to see a post from you Janet, I was thinking about you and your new machine the other day. From the look of those quilts it looks like you and your machine have at least come to a friendly agreement, for now anyway. ;) I sure love the look of that mini quilt. The silk is gorgeous. The butterflies are wonderful too and that bag pattern looks really familiar. Sort of like the bag pattern for the Friendship Bag swap hosted by Quilting Gallery. I have signed up for it and need to get mine finished. Mail date is in two weeks. I better get cracking. :)
Hey Jan, great to have you back with us :o) I love your Spring Swap quilt and your bag...and guess what - I've found your signature on my block at last!! thanks for putting up a piccy for me ;o) Good to see you're getting on with your new machine - is that the one that creates the lovely butterflies or is that another machine...is it a Janome?? If so I'll have to be nice to DH...I want one too!!!

Hi Jan
WOW! Something must be going right again for you as the work used posted is gorgeous. I love the double-sided flower quilt, and the reversible bag...so great 2-in-1.
The cabbage white butterflies - now that is just so clever and a beautiful block! Welcome back mate!

Hi Jan
Just wondered if you can give me an idea about the book you got for your birthday, "Altered Photo Artistry". I was going to buy this at the beginning some months ago but decided on others instead. I wanted to know what is in this book before I buy...or get it for my birthday next month?

Oh, everyone will love their swaps - they are gorgeous! I love the idea of the reversible bags, and those butterflies are breathtaking! The back of that flowered block is nearly as pretty as the front!
As usually all lovely work you do do great stuff i can speak from personal experience

Good to see you back in action, Jan! Your various items are gorgeous.:)
I'm personally hoping that I have a summertime swap on its way to me - the one I did went all the way to Kentucky! Have signed up for the Christmas Inchies Swap as a follow-up, haven't enough time for the Fall Swap as well. :)
Fiona.
