MIXED BUNCH AND THE ANSWER

You may or may not remember, I was doing an online class for making little books, well I made a few from the instructions, then branched out on my own so to speak - with Maggi's help. This red one, was the very first one I made and completed on my own, I was so pleased with it, it had to go to someone special, so I sent it to Maggi, the pages were done like pockets, I put little bits and bobs in them for her to use hopefully sometime, the cord was some I bought off our market, very pleased with it. Since this one I have been making more, and more, they are very addictive.
these were made with the online class...
these are ones I made on my own...
this one folds back on itself to make....
a star....
this I made with pockets, these were papers that didn't completely cover with paint or dye...
more books...
another star book...
this is the one that is three pictures up - darn blogger - see the sticks?
Strange, this picture has moved too, oh well,
these are a few pads I bought with more little books in mind...
papers ready for use, bought off EBay...
I got these as a freebie ffrom a lovely shop I found on EBay...
Sorry, my pictures are all over the place, grrr,
On the left are some fabulous beads from two bracelets I bought and dismantled,
on the right are some initial sticker thingies from poundland, could be useful...
what are these?
aha, can you see how my shopping has changed?
on the left, some frames and on the right, some tags - what are they for?
well lookee here, skewers and coffee stirrers...
rubber stamps and clear stamps from the lovely shop I found on EBAY, the lady
sent me a super message saying if she could help me at all with my new venture she would,
how kind is that, I will definitely buy from her again...oh yes, that stamp pad is LILAC...
Answer to the question in last post. It was a pizza polystyrene base with the skewers stuck in it. I had painted them all and needed somewhere for them to dry, they looked great in there, like a modern artwork,
See, there you go

This is a block made for Jytte, look, I forgot the leaves, OOPS, I will have to send
Jytte a piece of the fabric to put them on, oh dear oh dear...
close up of the flower heads, I stitched some lines on them cos I thought they looked a bit bare!
My name is on the small bud...
I had withdrawal symptons the other night through not making any postcards, so I made a few, the top one is fabric I have stitched over, the bottom one is a made up flower all stitched free style, my preferred version I think...

Well now, what do you think this could be?
I didn't do it, a little Chinese man did it for me...
Funny but cute looking bird isn't it? All done with just a few brush strokes, but what is it?

TADA -
it is my name, isn't it clever, I love it.
Stand back from the screen if you can't quite make it out and it gets clearer.
The writing on the left is apparently the date

Forgot to say, the sticks are used as the spine for some of the little books, you can see one up there, the one with the white papers, you weave them in the paper to make the book then weave thread or wool in them to keep it sturdy. I loved making that one, hence painting a stack of sticks different colours and buying more of them for future books. Careful what you say, you may get one!!!!!

Today - Tuesday - we went to Birmingham, I bought some great fabric for a bag, also some super fabric for the back of a special quilt I am making for a special little boy who is my friend. I wonder who that could bE?
Also some fabulous braids and buttons, will they be for my quilts or books? Decisions decisions!
