LAST QUILT SET OF THE YEAR

Saturday was the last meeting for the Quilt Set [my group] for this year. We had a wonderful turn out for it, I am always pleased when so many turn up, it makes it all worth while - if only it could be like this every meeting!  Not to worry, it was a lovely day, I took it easy and let everyone else to the running around! How lazy was I! I thoroughly enjoyed the day and hoped all the ladies did too. We had two new ladies join us, and they enjoyed themselves, they came up to me at the end of the day and said what a lovely group it was, how friendly everyone was, they couldn't wait for February to come round. So there we are, all's well that ends well....
Busy sewing...

Stitching away...

I love these candid shots...

Totally engrossed were Pam and Mary...

This was our Showtime for today...

Sorry about the blurred picture, this was a super sized bag...

This was so pretty...

Made by Maureen who we hadn't seen for a long while...

and more by her, all works in progress...

Another outstanding Quilt by Bridget, she has taken to Quilting
like a duck to water, she will go far I am sure...

This was finished by Rebecca, you have seen it before, she took it to show the ladies she
had finished it and it was going to be a Soldier's Quilt...

Kate's wonderful Iris hanging...

Betty went to Quorn and got this made, it is better in real life,
my camera was playing me up today, grrrr....

another you have seen before - sorry but it was taken for the ladies to see...

Suzanne made this - a grown up Advent Calendar for her friend Bridget...
she didn't know she was getting this - I love surprises...

Reb didn't know she was getting this either..also made by Suzanne,
she had made one for her friend and thought she best make one for Reb - save problems!!!!

the other one - again a dreadful picture...
the battery kept saying low low low

This is one of the new ladies, she caught up with how far the others had got with their project -
brilliant job too...

and the other new lady, she also cracked on with hers...

and this is Pat who joined last time, she too caught up with everybody...

Well done everyone, I am looking forward to seeing these all FINISHED in February next year!!!!

***************
then it was time for the Block Lotto
This had to be a 9 Patch 12" finished block made in green and cream
this was the one I made...

We had 15 blocks made in total,
aren't they great...
1st chosen had 8 blocks
2nd chosen had 4 blocks
3rd chosen had 3 blocks
again, I look forward to seeing what they make with them all in February----

*******************

Next up was the draw for the Charity Quilt and Bags.
They had made 9 patch blocks, which I chopped up and remade into the disappearing 9patch blocks and the resulting Quilt and Bags were made with these.
Irene won the Quilt
Michelle and Dee won a Bag each

We raised £160 which is going to the local Air Ambulance Team
Well done ladies, we will do it all again next year.

*******************************

Did you pick the winner
?????????
Middle row 4th along won 8 blocks
I was so proud because
Suzanne had made that block
then
Annette came second
and Betty came third.
Next time the chosen theme is Log Cabin - any variation
and the colour to use is Blue, any blue.
I have to tell you the top row, 5th one along was made by Rebecca.
Well done

************************************************************

Tomorrow I will put pictures up of the bits I bought from Lisa
yummy

I do wish I lived closer I would have loved to join and LEARN
Reb's work looks good now, whats it going to like in a few years. So good to see children involved.
