MY GROUP SATURDAY 16 MAY

To day I was asking the ladies to make two separate blocks, the first was to be Cathedral Window - Secret Garden, the second, the Wonky Star Block.
Today I was also going to meet Janice for the first time, she is the lady I have been partnered with by Khris for the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. swap.
These posts are out of order but I was tired Saturday and so only put Janice on, this lot I made wait as there are so many pictures. Better late than never though.

So here are the ladies working away at their Secret Garden Block..

Lots of concentration on their faces...

That's right, edges together...

Annette took these of Janice and me - this one she said would not do...
we both look worried don't we?

Told us off and said to smile a bit,
this is a great photo...

Still doing the Secret Garden...

Janice working away on my machine, she did very well considering
it was a strange machine, first time here etc etc...

Tada - here are some of the finished blocks, well, half of the
finished block, four squares was what I was aiming for,
but this is better than nothing...
Well done girls...

Wahey, look, one complete block,
Well done indeed that girl...
Pretty isn't it

LUNCH TIME
Chomp chomp chomp.
I then introduced them to
The Wonky Star
This I told them would take them, as it had me,
OUT of their Comfort Zones.
Look at the faces....
You could have heard a pin drop....

OH DEAR!!!!!

But hey, my ladies gave it their best shot...

Lots of groans I can tell you...

Just look at this fabulous fabric, oh isn't it gorgeous...

Hmm, keep them wonky girls...

You see, after all the grumbling and unpicking and
a few tantrums,
just look at what was achieved...

WELL DONE TO YOU ALL
I am proud of you for sticking at it

Next up was our
SHOWTIME
this is the part of the day everyone loves,
they are invited to bring along things they have made, either
from the classes or by themselves, it is always good for others
to see lots of things, this is where people get ideas from
so time for you to also enjoy our SHOWTIME

First up was this wonderful BACKPACK, Annette modelled it for us,
the ladies husband had devised a way of plaiting leather without it having
those tiresome tassels at the ends, how, I don't know but will find out...

A block made by one of the ladies to give to Annette for a Soldier Quilt,

[[[[Annette has joined forces with Di - sorry for the pun, - she
will be making up the blocks that have been donated, into Quilts,

then they will be passed to Di - who is also making Quilts from them,
she will then deliver them to her son who will forward them to the
shop, then on to Headley Grange, saving postage,
]]]]
Back to Showtime...

Great Block - many thanks...

Carole from Poppy Patch brought these blocks along,
these are also donated to the Soldier Quilts,
thank you again to the anonymous donators...

Now this is stunning..
THIS QUILT all completely done by hand,
has been donated to a Soldier,
how FABULOUS is that,
Many many thanks go to the lady who brought it into the shop -
Poppy Patch - and said what it was for...

Pattern seen in an Australian magazine and made
by Gail, it is gorgeous Gail, well done...

Doll blanket made by Rebecca on her sewing machine -
gifted to her courtesy of Pat...

Some of these you will have seen before of course, this being one such,
Annette's Mothers Day Quilt and Swapped charm squares quilts...

THREE Soldier Quilts made by Annette,
the blue one is finished the others are well on their way...
The Tumblers and Rail Fence quilts are
'Trundle Truck' Quilts...
That is, Wheelchair Quilts in Rebecca speak...

A beautiful tree cushion, adapted from the Christmas Tree we made in March...
The Apple cushion was 3D apples, Fabulous,
made by the lady who made the BackPack...

Fanfare here...
It is not often my other daughter - Suzanne - gets a mention,
but here is the gorgeous door curtain she and her hubby
made for his dad for his birthday,
this was huge, he has a massive porchway, he was thrilled to receive this...

Jean's Quilt, finished, she was pleased with it,

The quilts all piled up ready to be viewed...

UFO - this is going to Italy eventually...

A very talented lot of ladies I am sure you will agree.
I love my group and all they do it is a pleasure being with them.

I'm sorry I missed your day but it looks as though you all had a great time. I'm overwhelmed at the number of blocks people have donated, the fabulous quilts Annette has made and
also the wonderful donated quilt from a lady who wishes to remain anonymous.

Hi Leah,
I bullied them on Saturday to get both demos done, I am such a wicked person. hahahaha

Hi Janice,
I'm always surprised it works when they try to get one of me hohoho, that one of us is truly remarkable for me!! I do indeed have some talented ladies, they all are in their own way though.

Hey Khris,
they really really did not like the wonky stars but I made them persevere. hahahaha

Hi Ros,
