VICTORIAN TIMES

Take one old skirt of Nana's and one blouse of Mummy's,
an apron from the kitchen and some sheeting,
tweak the skirt,
frill the apron,
make a hat from the sheeting,
the blouse is tickety-boo,
and what have you got?

One Victorian maid/schoolgirl.
Here is some fun with comments for the pictures...

Please put your mob cap on properly girl...

Who is she telling off do you think...

Oh yes, looks like the stupid stable boy...

That's right you give him the 'spoon' treatment...

Maybe you ought to get on with your work...

Hey, if the mistress sees you sitting on her bench
you will be in trouble, no use looking at the clock,
you best start scrubbing the slabs...

Don't make out you are enjoying doing it...

That;s better, get on with some work.

We had some fun taking the pictures, them playing with them on the computer, I softened the borders first, then made them sepia as opposed to Black and White, think it looks pretty good if I do say so myself. Rebecca has to wear this all day at school tomorrow. The teachers dress up too. It is a great day, I hope she enjoys it.

This evening we went over to the school they were having an Evening of Talent. The children who took part were amazing, I took loads of photos, tomorrow I will get them here. Too many to start now. The evening was fantastic, such Talent. Very proud of Rebecca too, she took part in three separate things.

She looks cute doesn't she? Hope she enjoys the day and doesn't get upset. The teachers do sometimes get carried away!!!!In their role playing. Oh well we shall soon find out.

Well done, Jan!I love this time of year, evev if it does get a bit hectic, as children have a lot more fun at school and they actually do learn from "doing". Talent nights are great fun - they boost children's confidence. It's only adults who say "I can't do that!"
