Congratulations to my friend Di's Son, who completed the Great North Run in Newcastle yesterday. It was a half marathon (13.1 miles). He completed it in 2 hrs 5 mins and 21 seconds. He and some Forces colleagues ran this in memory of a colleague who was killed in Iraq this year and they were raising money for the Help for Heroes fund, website address above
They all ran in Army boots and small backpacks so as you can imagine it was hard going. PHEW!
They are now all up to run another half marathon and are going to try and get into the London Marathon next year.
What a fantastic achievement, well done indeed A. I shall give your mum the sponsor money when I see her next week.
