I LOVE PLAYING

I love playing with fabric and thread.

Way back earlier in the year, July I believe, I made a Mini Quilt, I designed it and made it for a swap with the Pizzazz group I was in. Well I really loved the design, I made it in Sari Silks, and was pleased with the way it turned out. This is it...

Anyway, as I said, I loved the design I had come up with, so decided I would use it again, this time on a slightly bigger scale and using cotton fabrics. So, I have cut out some flowers from a large scale fabric I had, I have appliqued them to the background and thread painted them. As you can see it is not quilted as yet, in fact, I'm NOT going to quilt this as it is to be a bag and it would make it very cumbersome. So basically it is almost finished.

Here are a few close ups for you to see the flowers I cut out, I think ? they are supposed to be Poppies??
I still like this design so will probably use it again sometime, I may change it a little, who knows what my Muse will make me do.

If you go back to July on here, you will see some of the other Mini Quilts that were in the exchange. They were super, and the one I received from Carole MArie is lovely, I have it on display in my sewing room.

So there we are, I have had a bit of a hectic week one way and another..my own fault of course..When am I going to learn not to leave things to the last minute?

Noel, you do realise the flower is cut out of another fabric don't you! I just embellished on the top. Yep me and my trusty Bernina did it all. You could get yours to do it. Any machine that does straight and zigzag will do this. Oh, you do need to be able to drop your feed dogs. :-)
